Paperspecs is a stateside blog dedicated to paper (obviously). They got in touch looking for a copy of That’s Impressive. They liked it so much they made a short movie about it. It’s pretty QVC and just a little cheesy but also quite flattering at the same time. You can view it on you tube here…

Scottish Design Awards 2012

Three projects have been shortlisted at this years Scottish Design Awards. That’s Impressive has been nominated in the Craft category, Bubble Betty for packaging and my own poster is in the item of self promotion category. Winners are announced at a black tie dinner on the 25th of May. Fingers crossed.

City of Glasgow College Student talk

I was invited to give a talk to the first year graphic design students at the City of Glasgow College (formerly the College of Building and Printing). Initially I was flattered to be asked but then I realised I’d need to talk about myself and my work for an hour. Would it be like the classroom scene in Ferris Buellers day off? Thankfully it went really well (or so I’m told) and the students were great, asking lots of questions at the end. A very rewarding experience in all and it’s definately something I’d consider doing more of.

The Whisky Bond

The Whisky Bond opens to Glasgow’s creative community in April 2012. Working at The Whisky Bond will be different – it’s being transformed into a creative factory for Glasgow, a nerve centre providing a place for independent people to run a business, a home to the artists of Glasgow Sculpture Studios and an accessible event space and gallery for a wide audience to enjoy and hire.

It will become a new kind of space, fully aligned with the emerging 21st century culture, characterised by relaxed networks and communication; diversity and independence; making and doing; innovation and collaboration.

Dear Green Coffee

Introducing Dear Green – Glasgow based artisan coffee roasters. The name Dear Green was inspired by the colour of the coffee beans. They’re originally green and turn brown when they’re roasted. It’s also a reference to Glasgow as it was once known as the ‘Dear Green Place’.

That’s Impressive

That’s Impressive is a collaboration with artisan letterpress printers and all round good guys Glasgow Press. It’s a collection of five letterpress postcards featuring songs by some of our favourite Glasgow bands. The cards are held together with a belly band and hand-made wax seal. Everything was printed on duplex GF Smith colorplan (actually Frightened Rabbit was triplex). The pack costs just £3.00 with all proceeds going to Barnardo’s childrens charity. Get your copy here.

Bright Blue Wealth are a Surrey based wealth management consultancy with a large client base of wealthy baby boomers. The business was established 15 years ago and is today one of the leading businesses within a network of 2,000 advisers. This complete rebrand involved a launch brochure, booklets, stationery, notepads and leaflets. (more pics to follow soon). A new website is currently in production.

Wrigglepot is a Brisbane based online retailer selling quality baby goods.
